Stablecoin settlement: what actually happens between two ledgers
The mechanics of on- and off-ramps, and where risk hides in the gaps.
ReadStablecoins · Trading · Custody
NOVACHANGE is a design concept for tokenised finance — stablecoin payment rails, settlement, spot trading and regulated-grade custody, engineered for the next generation of money movement.
Illustrative concept — no live service, no real-time data on this page.
01 · Stablecoin Infrastructure
Stablecoins aim to combine the familiarity of fiat with the programmability of blockchains. NOVACHANGE designs payment, settlement and treasury flows around fiat-referenced stablecoins — with transparency about how they are backed, because a peg is a promise, not a guarantee.
Merchant and payroll flows denominated in fiat-referenced stablecoins, with reconciliation built in.
Structured gross and net settlement workflows with audit trails an administrator can follow.
Programmatic cash management with permissioned access and automated reporting.
Stablecoin riskStablecoins can lose their peg. Reserve quality, redemption terms and issuer regulation vary widely, and holding a stablecoin is not the same as holding fiat currency. Nothing here is an endorsement of any token.
Conditional, scheduled and batched payments with settlement verifiable on-chain rather than asserted by email.
Controlled conversion between fiat and stablecoins with suitability checks and transaction monitoring at every step.
Sub-accounts, multi-role approvals and real-time dashboards for treasury teams managing digital liquidity.
02 · Trading & Custody
Trading sits beside custody in one accountable stack — segregated wallets, cold storage and controlled withdrawals underpin every order.
Spot markets across major pairs with configurable execution policies and real-time risk checks on every order.
Segregated wallets, offline storage by default, allow-lists, multi-party authorisation and time-delayed withdrawals.
Negotiated pricing for large orders with tailored execution and settlement flexibility across fiat and stablecoins.
03 · Compliance & Licensing
Hong Kong's VATP licensing regime (in effect since 1 June 2023 under the AMLO) and the Stablecoins Ordinance (in force 1 August 2025) define the bar this concept is built towards: custody, AML/CFT, reserves and disclosure.
Compliance at NOVACHANGE is treated as product infrastructure: transaction monitoring, Travel Rule readiness, suitability assessments and segregation are designed into the flows — not bolted on afterwards.
Licensing note: this template describes the regulatory landscape for reference only. It does not state — and must not be read to imply — that NOVACHANGE holds any licence or regulatory approval. Verify any platform's status directly with the SFC before onboarding.
04 · Security
Cold storage, distributed keys, proof of reserves and independent testing — the same architecture, whether the balance is a wallet or a treasury.
The overwhelming majority of client assets rest in air-gapped, geographically distributed cold wallets.
Keys distributed across roles, devices and jurisdictions. Movement requires multiple independent authorisations.
Crime and custody insurance arrangements, penetration testing and independent reviews on a published cadence.
A proof-of-reserves report compares client liabilities against on-chain holdings, published on a schedule with methodology attached — so verification is possible, not just claimed.
05 · Developers
Programmatic access to payments, trading and custody workflows — with sandbox environments, typed SDKs and idempotent requests. Built for engineering teams that ship to production.
Full-featured test environments with simulated assets — no real funds required to build.
Signed event streams for payments, settlements and withdrawals — poll nothing.
Scoped API keys and role-based controls that fit treasury governance models.
// Create a stablecoin payment intent — illustrative only
const nova = require('@novachange/sdk');
const payment = await nova.payments.create({
amount: '1250.00',
currency: 'USDC', // fiat-referenced
to: '0x71C7…9E2A',
schedule: 'immediate',
idempotency: 'pay_20261004_001'
});
console.log(payment.status); // → 'authorized'
Developer noteIllustrative snippet — no live API exists on this template. Integration patterns shown reflect industry conventions for idempotency, sandboxes and signed webhooks.

Whether you're a treasury, a fund or a builder, onboarding follows the same four gates — and compliance is one of them, by design.
Tell us about your entity, use case and expected activity — API or dashboard.
Day 0Identity, source-of-funds and risk review before anything is enabled.
ReviewBuild against the sandbox, then fund segregated accounts when ready.

Live08 · Questions
NOVACHANGE is a design template, not a live platform, and makes no claim to any licence or regulatory approval. For any real platform you evaluate, verify its status directly on the SFC's public registers before onboarding.
No. Stablecoins reference a fiat currency but are not issued or guaranteed by any central bank or government. They can lose their peg, redemption may be restricted, and reserve quality varies by issuer. Treat them as a distinct, riskier asset class.
In this concept: segregated wallets, with the majority in offline cold storage under multi-party authorisation. Withdrawals pass allow-list checks and time delays — no single person can move client assets alone.
A recurring report comparing client liabilities against on-chain holdings, published with methodology so third parties can verify it. It proves assets are present — it is not a guarantee of solvency or future conduct.
Yes. Virtual assets — including stablecoins — are highly volatile and may fall to zero. Nothing here is investment advice, and platform-held assets may not be covered by investor compensation schemes. Seek independent advice.
The SDK snippets on this page are illustrative — no live API exists. The integration patterns shown (sandboxes, idempotency, signed webhooks) reflect conventions any production-grade platform should offer.
Virtual assets — including stablecoins — are highly volatile and involve significant risk. Prices can move sharply in either direction and may fall to zero. Stablecoins can lose their peg to the asset they reference. Investors may lose their entire invested capital.
Nothing on this website constitutes investment advice, an offer to sell, or a solicitation of an offer to buy any virtual asset, security or financial product. Content is general information and education only.
Carefully consider your financial situation and seek independent professional advice before making any investment decision. Digital assets held on platforms may not be covered by investor compensation schemes. Past performance is not indicative of future results.
