Roasting on Errol Street since 2014
We roast in small batches out the back, bake sourdough before the sun is up, and cook a menu that follows the market. Pull up a chair — there's one warm with your name on it.
Two single origins on bar every week, roasted 6 metres from your cup.
Naturally leavened, 36-hour ferment, baked on site and on the shelf by seven.
Vegan and gluten-free options on every page, high chairs, and a dog-friendly courtyard.
Daily specials
Three standing offers, on top of the chef's blackboard specials by the till. No vouchers, no codes — just ask at the counter.
7:00 – 10:00 am
Any small coffee, one pastry from the morning tray and a cold-pressed orange juice. Built for the walk to the tram.
3:00 – 5:00 pm
Any cake or slice from the cabinet with a filter coffee, tea or iced chocolate. A very good excuse to stay a bit longer.
Until 1:00 pm
For two: waffles, eggs your way, smashed avocado, seasonal berries and two juices. Bring a friend, or don't.
Specials are available while stock lasts and cannot be combined with other offers.
Our story
Morning Brew started as a window in the side wall of a corner shop, serving 40 cups a day to shift workers and early buses. We've grown a little since — an espresso machine with a name, a courtyard that fills up by nine, and a kitchen we're genuinely proud of — but the idea hasn't moved an inch. Good coffee, cooked properly, served by people who remember your order.
We buy green beans direct from two importers we've worked with for a decade, roast twice a week in the back room, and put the batch date on every bag. If it isn't good enough to drink black, it doesn't go on the bar.
Opening hours
We're a morning and lunch place rather than an all-hours bar, so the kitchen shuts a little before the coffee does. Coffee, cake and the courtyard stay open right through the afternoon.
Breakfast and lunch from open until 3:00 pm daily. Cakes, pastries and coffee run to close.
Open 8:00 am – 1:00 pm with a short menu. Closed Christmas Day, Boxing Day and Good Friday.
Tables of six or more — give us a ring on the day and we'll hold the long table in the courtyard.
All times are local to the cafe (AEST/AEDT).
