Small-batch · Vet-formulated · Since 2016

Real food for
real companions.

We cook slow, in small batches, from ingredients you can actually name — grass-fed beef, wild-caught salmon, pumpkin, oats and kelp. No rendered meals, no mystery fillers, no artificial anything. Just dinners your dog or cat will hear the bag open for.

Three recipes, three life stages

Made for the dog at your feet and the cat on your keyboard.

Each line is built around a protein, a fibre and a fat — and nothing else you'd need to look up. Grain-friendly by default, grain-free on request.

Ingredient philosophy

If we wouldn't eat it, it doesn't go in the bowl.

Every recipe starts on a farm, not in a formula book. We buy whole, we cook gently, and we publish what's inside down to the last mineral.

01

One protein, named and traced

Each recipe leads with a single named protein from a farm we've visited. Batch codes on the bag lead back to the lot and the grower.

02

Whole, never rendered

No meat meal, no "animal by-products", no powdered digest. Real cuts, ground in-house the same day they're cooked.

03

Slow-cooked at 82°C

Low and slow in small 40 kg batches — hot enough to be safe, cool enough to keep the nutrients the label promises.

04

Carbohydrates with a purpose

Steel-cut oats, sweet potato and pumpkin supply slow-release fibre. Grain-free variants swap in chickpea and lentil — same balance, different pantry.

05

Supplemented by hand, dosed by vet

Taurine, zinc, vitamin E, omega-3 and chelated minerals added in measured doses — never sprayed on as an afterthought.

06

Nothing to hide behind

Zero artificial colours, flavours or preservatives. Preserved by vitamin E and airtight packing, not chemistry.

No fillers No by-products No artificial preservatives No added sugar Recyclable packaging

Wattle Creek Farm Grass-fed, pasture-raised beef from a 40,000-acre family property. Full traceability per lot. Beef & organs
Coldwater Sound Wild-caught salmon, landed and chilled within four hours. No farmed dye, no net pens. Salmon & whitefish
Hilltop Mills Stone-milled steel-cut oats and barley, milled to order so the oils stay fresh. Ancient grains
North Shore Kelp Hand-harvested Icelandic kelp, iodine-rich and tested for heavy metals every batch. Sea vegetables
Nutrition guides

Feeding your pet shouldn't require a degree.

Plain-language guides, a life-stage chart and a portion calculator — the same tools our in-house veterinary nutritionist gives clients.

Transitioning to fresh

Switch over seven days, not overnight — it protects the gut and the goodwill.

  • Days 1–2: 25% NaturePaw, 75% old food
  • Days 3–4: an even 50/50 split
  • Days 5–6: 75% NaturePaw, 25% old
  • Day 7 onwards: full portions, twice daily

Reading our labels

We print two things most brands don't: the as-fed breakdown and the dry-matter ratio.

  • As-fed: what's in the bowl as it is
  • Dry matter: the honest protein comparison
  • Batch code: links to the farm and cook date
  • Typical analysis: calcium, phosphorus, omega-3

Special conditions

Weight management, sensitive skin and senior joints each get a tuned variant.

  • Light & Lean: 22% protein, L-carnitine
  • Sensitive Skin: single protein, no chicken
  • Senior Mobility: green-lipped mussel + glucosamine
  • Dental: larger shaped kibble for scraping

Is NaturePaw complete and balanced?

Yes. Every recipe meets AAFCO Dog or Cat Food Nutrient Profiles for its stated life stage, verified by an independent laboratory on each production batch — not just on the original formulation.

My dog has a chicken allergy. What can I feed?

Reach for Meadow Beef & Oat or River Salmon & Kelp; both are produced on a dedicated line after a full wet clean, and neither contains chicken protein, fat or digest. Our Sensitive Skin variant is single-protein salmon.

How should I store an open bag?

Keep it in the original bag, folded and clipped, in a cool dark cupboard — not in a plastic bin, which strips the oils and holds odours. Use within six weeks of opening; freeze the surplus in week-sized portions if you feed a small pet.

Can I mix NaturePaw with wet food or raw?

Absolutely. Many households feed half a portion of NaturePaw alongside wet food or a raw meal. Just keep the combined daily calories steady and introduce one change at a time with a four-day gap.

What if they turn their nose up at it?

Then you pay nothing. Our 30-day Bowl-Cleared Guarantee covers the full first order, opened or not — one email and we refund it, and you keep whatever's left in the bag.
