- Good with kids
- Leash training

Handed in by a breeder who could not sell him. All puppy energy — needs a garden or two long walks a day.
Registered rescue · Est. 2009
We take in the animals nobody else will — the injured, the abandoned, the overlooked. Then we heal them, foster them, and spend as long as it takes finding the family that fits. No cages on a clock. No animals put down for space.
Adoptable right now
Every animal listed here is vaccinated, microchipped, vet-checked and living in a foster home — so we can tell you exactly how they are with kids, cats, stairs and thunder. Filter to meet your household.
Golden Retriever · 5 months
Handed in by a breeder who could not sell him. All puppy energy — needs a garden or two long walks a day.
Pug · 8 years
Surrendered when his owner moved into care. Sleeps through the night and asks for very little beyond company.
Domestic Shorthair · 9 years
With us for 14 months — overlooked because of her age. Willow deserves a lap for her last chapters.
Shih Tzu mix · 7 years
Rescued from a hoarding case with five others. Shy for two days, then all tail wags.
Toy Poodle · 2 years
Given up because a new baby arrived. Biscuit has never met a person he did not immediately trust.
Domestic Shorthair · 1 year
Found in a construction site at eight weeks. Would do best adopted with her sister, Sage.
Sheltie mix · 4 months
Recovering from a fractured leg — funded by donors. Available for meet-and-greets in three weeks.
Maltese mix · 5 years
A calm companion who visited three care homes with our volunteer team and charmed every room.
How adoption works
We take our time because the wrong match costs the animal a home twice. Most families go from first application to key-in-the-door in two to four weeks.
Twenty minutes, no fee. Tell us about your home, your hours, who lives with you and any other animals. Nothing is ever first-come-first-served.
Come to the shelter or the foster home. Bring everyone in the household, including your dog for a walking introduction on neutral ground.
A volunteer checks the basics — secure windows, screens, lift rules, exercise plan. Then we match the animal to you, not you to the animal.
Adoption fee HK$800 covers vaccination, microchip, desexing and the first vet check. You leave with a two-week trial and our behaviour line for life.
Success stories
Three of the 4,820 — written by the people who took them home.
“They asked us what our flat could actually give, not whether we wanted a dog. Eight months in, Momo owns the sofa and we own nothing else.”
“Pumpkin hid under the bed for nine days. The foster mum rang me every evening that week. Nobody has ever checked on me that often.”
“Sesame came in with a broken jaw and cost us nothing. I still don't fully understand how a charity pays for that. So now I do the weekend shifts.”
Volunteer with us
A dog that has been walked by the same person every Tuesday is a dog that gets adopted. Ninety percent of our weekend crew had never volunteered anywhere before. Training is provided, and you will never be asked to do anything you are not comfortable with.
Donate
Eighty-eight cents of every dollar reaches animal care — surgery, dental, blood tests, food and the heating pads in the kitten room. The rest keeps the lights on and the accounts audited.
Secure payment by card, FPS or bank transfer. Tax-deductible under s.88 of the Inland Revenue Ordinance. One-time gifts are charged once; monthly gifts renew until you tell us to stop, and cancelling takes one email.
Last month we set a HK$28,000 target for three orthopaedic surgeries. It closed in nine days, and Riley is already putting weight on the leg.
We always need dry food, puppy pads, fleece blankets, unused litter and old towels. Drop off any day we are open — no appointment needed.
Questions
No. Two-thirds of the dogs we rehome go to flats. What we look for is a realistic exercise plan, someone home enough hours, and a commitment to two walks a day in all weather. We will happily talk you through which of our dogs suit apartment life — most small breeds and all of our seniors do.
Vaccination course, microchip and registration, desexing, a dental check and a full veterinary examination. That package normally costs HK$4,000–6,000, so the fee is a contribution, not a purchase price. It is waived for adopters over 65 and for bonded pairs.
Yes — come to the shelter on any open day between 11:00 and 16:00, or book a foster-home visit for animals not living on site. You do not need an approved application to walk in, sit down and spend twenty minutes with a dog or cat.
You have a two-week trial, and you can return the animal to us at any point in their life — no judgement, no fee, no interview. We would far rather take an animal back than see it rehomed on a classifieds site. Roughly one in twenty adoptions ends this way, and every one of those animals has found a home within four months.
Fill in the volunteer form and pick one onboarding Saturday. You will get a two-hour orientation, a t-shirt, and a named buddy for your first three shifts. Under-16s are welcome on adoption days alongside a parent or guardian.
Last financial year: 61% veterinary and medical care, 21% food and shelter running costs, 6% foster support and transport, 12% administration and fundraising. Full accounts and the board's annual review are published every March on our reports page.
