What we do

Four kinds of care, one continuous relationship

Most families start with one service and add another as needs change — that is exactly what the care plan is for. Your coordinator adjusts it with you, and the same caregiver keeps showing up.

Matching is done by an RN and a coordinator — together

We look at clinical need, language, temperament, and even what your parent likes to watch in the afternoon. If the first match isn't right, we change it free of charge in the first two weeks.

Family stories

The reviews we are proudest of are about small things

A shower taken without a fight. A daughter sleeping through the night. A father back at his own kitchen table. That is what good home care looks like from the inside.

An older woman dancing with a younger man while other people watch and smile
“Mum had stopped going out. Within six weeks she was dancing at her own birthday party, with Anjali holding one hand and my brother the other. I cried in the car park — the good kind.”
Rebecca Lindqvist Daughter of a client · Northgate · Personal care, 12 hrs a week

My father came home from hospital on a Friday. Grace had two caregivers and a nurse at the door by Saturday morning, and she rang me every day for the first week without being asked.

Daniel MoreauSon · Bayview

I live nine hours away and had no idea where to start. They sorted the VA paperwork I had given up on, and now I get a note after every single visit. That peace of mind is the whole product.

Theresa HollowayDaughter · Fairfield

We tried respite for one weekend so I could go to my granddaughter's wedding. Susan was so good with him that he now asks what day she is coming. I did not expect that.

Questions families ask

Straight answers, before you call

Most families have a caregiver at the door within 24 to 48 hours of the free consultation, and same-day cover is often possible for urgent hospital discharges or a carer who has fallen. Call the 24-hour intake line and we will tell you honestly what we can do today — including if the answer is that we can't.

Every caregiver is a direct CareBridge employee. That matters more than it sounds: it means we carry the insurance, we pay the taxes, we supervise the training, and we can move a caregiver off a case the moment something is wrong. Each one completes a national background check, identity and reference verification, a tuberculosis screening and 40 hours in our care academy before their first shift. We hold $2 million in liability and bonding cover.

Three hours per visit for hourly care, and no weekly minimum beyond that — one visit a week is a perfectly normal starting point. Overnight shifts run 8 to 12 hours. Live-in care is arranged in blocks of a week or more, with the caregiver's room, breaks and relief cover built into the quote.

Yes, and it is free. Our care advisors verify long-term care policy benefits with the insurer, complete the claim paperwork with you, and bill eligible veterans and surviving spouses directly through the VA. We are also a credentialed provider for several private health plans. If a benefit is available to you, we would rather find it than watch you pay full rate.

Tell your coordinator within the first two weeks and we re-match at no cost — no cancellation fee, and no uncomfortable conversation with the caregiver, because we handle it. After the first two weeks we still re-match whenever you ask; the relationship is the entire service, so we would rather change it than defend it.

At any time. There is no long-term contract, no deposit and no exit fee. Give us 24 hours' notice to change a visit and we will adjust the rota, the invoice and the caregiver's briefing. Families pause for a hospital stay, a family visit or a holiday and come back — that is completely normal.

After every visit, the caregiver logs a note — what was eaten, what was taken, mood, mobility, anything unusual — and you get it by email or text, whichever you prefer. A nurse supervisor reviews the file every 60 days, and your coordinator calls you monthly. If something needs a decision, you hear it from us before it becomes urgent.

It is the most common call we get, and it is usually a fear of losing control rather than a refusal of care. We start with what they will accept — a walk, a shopping trip, someone to cook with — with no bathing and no uniform, and we let the relationship build from there. It works far more often than arriving with a care plan and a clipboard.
