EN 13432 · ASTM D6400 · BPI certified

Packaging that returns to the earth.

We engineer rigid and flexible packaging from moulded pulp, sugarcane bagasse, palm leaf and starch-based film — drop-in replacements for plastic that compost in 90 days, print like paper and ship at container volume.

Six platforms, one material philosophy

Every EcoWrap line is built from annually renewable feedstock and tested to the same standard: compost completely, hold up in transit, and run on your existing filling lines without a change of tooling.

Material science

Fibre in, packaging out — and back to fibre

Our lab formulates the pulp, the barrier and the adhesive as one system. Compostability is not a coating on the outside of the design; it is the design constraint that everything else is tuned around.

01 / FEEDSTOCK

Annually renewable pulp

Recovered OCC, bagasse and bamboo, screened for heavy metals and pulped without elemental chlorine.

02 / REFINE

Fibre & suspension

Freeness, fibre length and starch ratio are set per product so the wall thickness holds its shape wet.

03 / FORM

Mould & thermoform

Vacuum-drawn into heated tools at 0.4 mm tolerance, then dried in a closed-loop air system.

04 / FINISH

Barrier & cure

A thin bio-based barrier is applied only where the pack meets food, grease or moisture.

B
Barrier without PFAS

Bio-wax and starch dispersion coatings hold grease and moisture while staying compostable.

T
Tuned strength-to-weight

We thin the wall until the load case still passes — less fibre per unit shipped, fewer trucks on the road.

S
Separation by design

Every multi-part pack is reviewed for a one-step compost route, with a mono-material fallback.

Sustainability

Measured, third-party verified, published

Figures below cover the twelve months to June 2026 across all EcoWrap production sites. Our full methodology and assurance letters are available on request.

48,000t

Plastic displaced

Conventional packaging replaced by certified compostable substrate since 2019.

62%

Lower embodied carbon

Cradle-to-gate CO₂e per kilogram against the fossil polymer equivalent.

90days

To break down at home

TÜV Austria OK Compost HOME for the full tableware and mailer platforms.

94%

Waste diverted from landfill

Across all twelve plants, including trim, rejects and packaging of packaging.

100%

Renewable electricity

Own solar plus contracted wind and hydro covering every production line.

12,400t

Fibre recovered in 2026

Bagasse and recovered board brought back through our closed-loop take-back scheme.

Figures verified by an independent assurance provider under a limited assurance engagement. CO₂e values use cradle-to-gate system boundaries and 100-year GWP factors; compostability testing follows EN 13432 and ASTM D6400 protocols.

Every tonne of fibre comes with a source we can name

Bagasse from three certified mills in Guangdong, recovered board from municipal collection in the Netherlands, bamboo from FSC-certified smallholders. Chain of custody is documented lot by lot.

Circular by design

What happens after the box is opened

A package is only compostable if the person holding it knows what to do with it. So every SKU leaves the plant carrying the pathway, not a slogan.

1

Grow

Annual feedstock is harvested and recovered without clearing forest.

2

Form

Fibre becomes a structural pack in a closed-loop water system.

3

Pack & ship

Your product goes out in a pack that passed the same load tests as plastic.

4

Compost

Home bin, industrial composter or council food-waste stream — all three work.

5

Return

The compost feeds soil; the take-back scheme returns bulk board to fibre.

Brand partnerships

340 brands have re-specified to EcoWrap

From single-site coffee groups to multinational retail, we work as a packaging partner rather than a component supplier — formulation, line trials and compliance all included.

We ran a blind line trial for six weeks. EcoWrap's bagasse clamshells ran on the same conveyor, at the same speed, with a 0.3% reject rate — and we retired 41 tonnes of polystyrene a year.

They came with a compost pathway, not just a material. That is what got it past our compliance team.
